The story behind Kings Heathens:

David Fisher walked into Evan C Ritchie’s barber shop for a haircut, carrying the implements of his busking trade. Conversation revealed a mutual love of the traditional music of the ocean and the land, and the visit ended with a rousing rendition of Leave Her, Johnny and a promise to have a jam soon. The rest is history.

Hailing from Milton Keynes and Texas respectively, adopted Brummies Fisher & Ritchie share a passion for Celtic and transatlantic folk, shanties and ballads. Catch their rousing choruses, close harmonies and homages to Stan Rogers at a gig near you soon!

Since forming in 2022, Kings Heathens have performed at folk clubs and festivals around the country, receiving positive reviews. They released their debut EP, entitled Busker & Barber, in 2022, with plans to release an album in Spring 2024. To see them live, see the gigs section of this website.
